RUTTA - Code of Conduct

Reading University Table Tennis Association (referred to as RUTTA) is affiliated to the English Table Tennis Association (ETTA) the national governing body for table tennis. Within RUTTA we currently have one ETTA Level 2 coach, who will be attending the majority of practise sessions and be happy to advise you as much or little as you desire.

Members are expected to behave in an appropriate, sensible manner at all times (training sessions and matches) especially during away matches when representing the university. No player may participate if under (or deemed to be under) the influence of intoxicating substances.

Players are expected to wear suitable clothing at all times, this should include a t-shirt, shorts and a suitable pair of trainers (non-slip soles if possible). Players are not advised to wear jeans (though will not be turned away if they do). Too much clothing may be dangerous causing overheating. If players remove clothing during the session they must place it at the sides away from the playing area.

All accidents must be recorded in the accidents log book. Depending on the severity of the injury a first aider will be required to attend or an ambulance will be called. In the event of a serious injury the person's primary contact will be informed. There will always be people trained in first aid present during sessions (as well as the sports centre staff).

Unruly players will be given two (2) warnings, then will be made to leave without refund.

The AGM will be held yearly (typically just after Easter) to elect the president and committee for the following year. The president will hold the casting vote in the event of a tie. All decisions within the club will be made by the committee; any member can input their opinion.
