RUTTA - Reading University Table Tennis Association

Welcome to the website for the University of Reading Table Tennis Club. We are looking for players of any standard to join the club. We train weekly and play friendly inter-club matches in a ladder competition that lasts the entire year!

Players new to the game (or those who have only played occasionally) are encouraged to join and learn from the team players. Experienced players can join and play competitively representing the university.

RUTTA currently has a team in the university league (BUCS) generally playing weekly. RUTTA also has two teams in the Reading league; one in division 3 and one in division 5. We can still register players for both of these teams, the idea being to enter some of the new 2009 freshers into these. Regardless of your ability we should be able to enter you into competitive match play with players of a similar standard.

Practice sessions take place from 7.45 - 8.45 on Thursday evenings and 4.00 - 5.00 on Sunday afternoons in Wolfenden Sports Centre on Whiteknights Campus. (Depending on numbers this may be extended to 2hour sessions)

We also have an active social side to the club, generally we go for a drink after matches, and sometimes after Sunday training. We have also held socials in town at: The Turks, Pavlov's Dog, Q Bar and Sakura - often getting discount and VIP entry!

Membership is currently £15 for the year which includes a free club shirt, you can join the club anytime thoughout the year. This is to cover the cost of running weekly practice sessions. To become a member please speak to one of the committee.
